Job Description / Duties:
Building and maintaining systems to support the Fund Controllers function.
The Fund Controllers are responsible for many aspects of our Global Hedge Fund and Mutual Fund businesses, including oversight of the processes around striking NAVs, monitoring and budgeting for Fund Expenses and the oversight of each entities balance sheet.
The role involves working closely with our users to define and refine requirements as well as designing, developing, testing and delivering solutions using Java, Web Technologies (including AJAX / GWT and database and reporting technologies (Sybase, Cognos, Apache POI, Perl, etc.).
Skills required:
At least 3 years of experience in the finance industry, preferably supporting an accounting / fund accounting / performance role
Strong Java design, development and UI development skills (core JAVA, JSP / Struts, Google Web Toolkit)
Strong Relational Database (Sybase) skills
Experience with Cognos is desirable but not required
Strong analytical skills as well as attention to detail
Strong communication skills are vital in this role which involves dealing with user groups in multiple regions as well as technology groups across the firm, outside the firm, and in multiple regions around the world
