The Network Engineer role is to ensure the stable operation of inhouse computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all Cisco network hardware, software and communication links. Analyze and resolve end user hardware and software computer in a timely manner and provide end user training where requires. Perform network design and capacity planning. Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associates training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use and disaster recovery. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure network products and services. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. Cisco certifications a plus.
Additional responsibilities will include management of Windows 2003 servers, including email print and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software. VMWare and Citrix experience a plus.
