Qualifications Necessary

Required Skills

5 + years development experience

Strong MS SQL background (MS SQL 2005)

Solid .NET experience (C#)

Note: C# and MS SQL experience are equally important

Solid testing experience

Strong knowledge of object oriented concepts

Ability to work on technical projects with little or no supervision, paying close attention to details

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

High level of commitment and enthusiasm

Financial industry experience

Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work directly with end users.

Bachelors degree



Optional Skills (desirable but not required)

Experience at an investment management firm (very desirable)

Knowledge of trading systems. Linedata Longview experience is ideal. Examples of other trading systems include: Charles River, Eze Castle, Advent Moxy, LatentZero, SS&C Antares, and ITG Triton X.

Knowledge of equity trading processes.

Some report writing experience (Crystal, Reporting Services, etc.) (nice to have, not that important)





Responsibilities



Support trading systems and separately management account infrastructure
Support work will include fixes to production applications, small projects, and system enhancements

Requires developing a strong understanding of trading workflows and the trading technical infrastructure

From now until October 31, the role will be heavily focused on a major trading system project. After October 31, the position will be focused more on production support.
The purpose of the project is to provide a new vendor trading system to our Domestic Equity and Fixed Income groups

Participate in full system development lifecycle including high level design, detailed design, test planning, construction, deployment planning, testing, deployment, and post deployment support.

Potential development work includes creating data loads and developing reports for use by traders and portfolio managers

Other Considerations
Position requires pager support

Ideally person willing to work slightly later schedule (Starting around 9 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. ending around 6:00 p.m.)

End Date: 4Q 2008 (with potential for conversion to full time)
