Senior Manager, Market Data Systems, Technology
Description:
A senior manager whose key responsibilities include but are not limited to manage multiple Market Data Systems as well lead and multi-task multiple releases. A key aspect of this position to manage multiple vendors, as well as coordinate efforts between the Amex, NMS, and NASDAQ. This position is focused on the design, development and enhancement efforts for Market Data Systems developed and maintained by and for the American Stock Exchange. The majority of these systems will be written in C++/Java on Linux and Windows platforms.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible managing several external vendors who support the AMEX Market Data Systems.
* Schedule releases and implementations with external departments within the organization.
* Candidate should have functional understanding of market data systems in a Securities Exchange.
* Application functional and regression testing.
* Application stress and performance testing and coordination with Exchange QA, Infrastructure, and Business groups.
* Development of solutions that take advantage of existing infrastructure, applications and platforms where feasible.
* Design and development of the new solutions to facilitate significant long term savings.
* Must be able to maintain a strong and solid relationship with external organizations such as CTS/CQS, OPRA, and NASDAQ.
* Must have a strong understanding of Market Data Business rules.

Qualifications:

* Candidate should have 5-8 years of experience in developing market data systems using C++ under Linux and or UNIX environments.
* Strong Vendor Management experience.
* Some understanding of Modern Object Oriented Analysis and Design methodologies, modern AD&D languages (C++, JAVA), Inter-process Communication, Middleware, Databases (Oracle, Sybase), and Operating Systems (LINUX, Windows 2000 and XP).
* BS/BA in Comp Science/MIS and a minimum of 5 years experience in developing and testing distributed applications.
* Experience using source control and defect tracking systems.
* Candidate should have financial software development experience.
* Must have flexible working hours to support night and weekend testing.
* Solid communication skills.
