The Opportunity We're looking for an exceptional Senior Product Manager who thrives at the intersection of technical excellence and rapid growth. This isn't your typical PM role - we need someone who can architect platform solutions, ship at startup speed, and build the foundation for 10x scale. You'll own our core platform and API strategy, working hand-in-hand with our Engineering Manager to build products that power our entire ecosystem. Think of yourself as the technical architect of your product domain - someone who can go deep on system design, make tough architectural decisions, and still ship features that customers love. What You'll Build Platform Architecture & APIs ● Design and own our API strategy - from REST/GraphQL decisions to webhook architectures ● Build platform capabilities that enable other teams to ship 10x faster ● Create developer experiences that make integration seamless for internal teams and external partners ● Architect event-driven systems that scale from thousands to millions of transactions Technical Product Leadership ● Partner with engineering to make critical technical decisions - microservices boundaries, database choices, infrastructure investments ● Own the technical product roadmap, balancing feature velocity with platform stability ● Drive build vs. buy decisions with clear ROI analysis ● Define and enforce API standards that become the gold standard across the organization Growth & Innovation ● Ship MVPs fast, learn faster, and iterate based on real data ● Identify platform opportunities that unlock exponential growth ● Build features that compound - every release makes the next one easier ● Create self-serve capabilities that reduce operational overhead while increasing customer value What Makes You a Fit Technical Depth ● 5+ years of product management with at least 3 years focused on technical/platform products ● You can whiteboard system architecture and debate trade-offs with senior engineers ● Deep understanding of APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems ● Experience with modern tech stacks and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) ● You've shipped products that handle real scale - millions of API calls, complex integrations, high availability requirements Startup DNA ● You've worked in high-growth environments where shipping fast matters ● Comfortable with ambiguity - you create clarity from chaos ● You measure everything but don't get paralyzed by analysis ● Experience wearing multiple hats and jumping into whatever needs doing ● You understand that perfect is the enemy of good enough Platform Thinking ● You see patterns and build abstractions that others miss ● Experience creating developer tools, APIs, or platform products ● You think in systems, not features ● Track record of building capabilities that multiply team productivity ● You understand the economics of platforms and network effects Core Competencies Technical Excellence ● Fluent in technical discussions about system design, data models, and API contracts ● Can review PRs, understand technical debt trade-offs, and contribute to architecture decisions ● Experience with event streaming, message queues, and asynchronous processing ● Understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy requirements Product Craft ● Exceptional at breaking down complex problems into shippable increments ● Data-driven decision making with strong analytical skills ● Can write technical specs that engineers love and business stakeholders understand ● Experience with modern product tools (analytics, A/B testing, feature flags) Leadership & Communication ● Can influence without authority across engineering, design, and business teams ● Communicate complex technical concepts simply to any audience ● Comfortable presenting to engineers, executives, and customers ● Mentality of extreme ownership - you own outcomes, not just outputs What Success Looks Like First 30 Days ● Deep dive into our technical architecture and identify quick wins ● Ship your first feature improvement based on customer feedback ● Build relationships with key engineering and business stakeholders First 90 Days ● Own and refine the platform roadmap with clear success metrics ● Launch at least one major platform capability that accelerates other teams ● Establish yourself as the go-to person for technical product decisions Why Join Us ● Impact: Your work directly affects our core platform and every product we build ● Growth: We're scaling rapidly - help us build the foundation for the next 10x ● Ownership: Real autonomy to make decisions and drive outcomes ● Team: Work with exceptional engineers who care about craft and shipping ● Learning: Exposure to complex technical challenges and business problems Requirements ● 5+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years on technical products ● Proven track record at high-growth startups or tech companies ● BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience ● Experience with B2B SaaS, platforms, or developer tools ● Strong technical background - you should be dangerous enough to prototype Nice to Have ● Experience in fintech, insurtech, or regulated industries ● Previous engineering or technical background ● Track record of building and scaling platform teams
