A healthcare facility in Connecticut is actively seeking a dedicated and driven professional to join their staff as their new Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP). In this role, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) ensures optimal care services are completed in a timely and efficient manner.ResponsibilitiesThe Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP):

• Conducts psychiatric evaluation and formulates accurate diagnoses in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM)
• Manages prescribed medication, performs mental status examinations
• Develops and presents clear clinical impressions and recommendations that are specific and attainable
• Provides therapeutic interventions appropriate to specific problems
• Develops and documents clear clinical formulationsQualifications
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
  • Board Certified as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
  • Active DEA Controlled substance registration
  • Knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns and effective modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention
  • Knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes, and resources
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
