We are growing and seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and compassionate Oral Surgery Dental Assistant who can confidently support surgical and IV sedation procedures in a fast-paced, multi-location setting.
This role is best suited for someone with prior hands-on oral surgery experience who thrives in a high-performance clinical environment and is comfortable traveling between practice locations as needed.
What You’ll Do
As an Oral Surgery (Surgical) Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting the surgeon and ensuring efficient, high-quality patient care throughout all phases of treatment.
- Chairside assisting for oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including extractions, implants, grafting, and related surgical treatments
- Assisting with IV sedation and anesthesia cases, including patient preparation, intraoperative monitoring, and recovery
- Monitoring and documenting patient vital signs during procedures
- Maintaining strict aseptic technique and infection control standards
- Preparing, managing, and breaking down surgical instruments, equipment, and operatories
- Obtaining dental radiographs and imaging in compliance with California regulations
- Providing clear pre- and post-operative patient instructions and compassionate support
- Accurate clinical charting and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and clinical safety standards
- Performing other related clinical duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Active California Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) status in good standing
- California Dental Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray permit)
- CPR / BLS certification (required)
- Prior hands-on oral surgery assisting experience, including IV sedation cases
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization, and infection control protocols
- Ability to work efficiently and confidently in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon needs
- Calm, reassuring chairside manner and excellent patient care skills
- California Dental Assistant Sedation Monitoring certification is beneficial
- DAANCE certification or formal anesthesia-related education is a plus
