OR Ortho Registered Nurse PRN

LifeBridge Health is seeking an experienced OR Ortho Registered Nurse PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in our orthopedic surgical and post-surgical care environment. As a key member of a collaborative, patient-centered care team, you will provide specialized nursing care to adult orthopedic patients in a fast-paced acute care setting, supporting both pre- and post-operative needs and helping patients regain mobility and function after injury or surgery. In this PRN role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, and other musculoskeletal surgeries. You will perform thorough nursing assessments, monitor vital signs and neurovascular status, manage pain effectively, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition. You will be responsible for administering medications, managing IV therapies, and providing meticulous care of casts, splints, traction devices, and surgical wounds while adhering to infection prevention and patient safety protocols. You will collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, physical and occupational therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans. A key part of your role will be educating patients and their families about post-operative care, mobility and weight-bearing precautions, pain management strategies, equipment use, and discharge instructions, ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home or rehabilitation settings. You will use electronic health records to document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
