Licensed Mental Health Therapist
Columbia Mental Health, a leading provider of comprehensive psychiatric services in Washington, DC, is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide individualized, evidence-based psychotherapeutic care to a diverse adult and adolescent population, supporting patients with a wide range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, and co-occurring challenges. As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, you will conduct thorough biopsychosocial assessments, develop and regularly update collaborative treatment plans, and deliver individual, family, and group therapy using advanced therapeutic approaches aligned with best practices. You will utilize modalities such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based interventions, tailoring treatment to each patient’s unique needs and cultural background. You will closely monitor patient progress, adjust interventions as clinically indicated, and coordinate with psychiatric providers and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, integrated care. You will document all clinical encounters and treatment plans in our electronic health record in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner, adhering to federal, state, and organizational standards. You will maintain appropriate caseloads, manage appointments, respond to clinical crises in a calm and professional manner, and participate in case consultations, team huddles, and interdisciplinary treatment planning. Collaboration is central to this position; you will work closely with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, case managers, and support staff to promote continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.
