Mental Health Therapist
New Directions Mental Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, providing comprehensive outpatient care to children, adolescents, and adults. As a therapist in our practice, you will deliver individual, family, and, when appropriate, group therapy, using evidence-based approaches tailored to each client’s unique needs. You will conduct thorough clinical assessments, formulate diagnoses when appropriate, and develop personalized treatment plans that reflect client goals and clinical best practices. In this role, you will maintain a manageable caseload of clients across the lifespan, meeting with them regularly to support progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and adjust interventions as needed. You will be responsible for accurate and timely documentation of all clinical contacts, including intake evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, using our electronic health record system while strictly adhering to HIPAA and professional ethical standards. Collaboration is central to our approach, and you will work closely with a supportive, interdisciplinary team that may include other therapists, psychiatrists, primary care providers, and school or community professionals. You will participate in case consultations, coordinate care as needed, and provide psychoeducation to clients and families to help them better understand mental health conditions, coping strategies, and available resources. When risk concerns arise, such as suicidality or significant safety issues, you will conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate crisis intervention and safety planning. New Directions Mental Health is dedicated to personalized, client-centered care, and you will be encouraged to bring your clinical strengths, cultural humility, and creativity to the therapeutic process. Our clinic culture is grounded in empathy, support, and collaboration; you will be part of a team-oriented environment that prioritizes both client well-being and clinician sustainability. As an employee, you will have the opportunity to positively impact lives on a daily basis, engage in meaningful and rewarding work, and grow professionally through supervision, peer consultation, and opportunities for ongoing training. We are looking for a therapist with a solid foundation in mental health assessment and treatment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine commitment to helping clients achieve meaningful change. Candidates should be comfortable working with diverse populations and presenting concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related issues, behavioral concerns in children and adolescents, and life transitions in adults. Experience with evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or family systems approaches is highly valued. This position is typically full-time, with a hybrid work environment that may include a mix of in-clinic and telehealth sessions, depending on client needs and clinic policies. In addition to a competitive salary, the role may be accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package, which can include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, retirement plan options such as a 401k, and paid time off. New Directions Mental Health provides a supportive setting for clinicians who want to build a stable, long-term career in outpatient mental health care while contributing to a culture focused on empathy, collaboration, and high-quality client outcomes.
