Avera Health is seeking a skilled and patient-centered Radiology Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. Based within our regional health system serving the Upper Midwest, this role is responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures in a safe, accurate, and compassionate manner. The Radiology Technologist will work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team to obtain high-quality diagnostic images that support timely and effective treatment decisions. This position includes preparing and positioning patients, operating radiologic equipment, adhering to ALARA principles and radiation safety standards, and following established imaging protocols and physician orders. The technologist will verify patient identification, explain procedures clearly, and respond to questions with empathy, ensuring that each patient feels respected and supported throughout the imaging process. Responsibilities also include reviewing images for diagnostic quality, documenting procedures in the electronic medical record, and collaborating with radiologists for any additional views or repeat studies needed. The role requires strict compliance with infection prevention, safety policies, and regulatory standards, as well as careful handling and maintenance of imaging equipment. The Radiology Technologist will participate in rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call coverage, to support 24/7 patient care needs.
