Cardiac Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET/CT)
Our client is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a specialized cardiology imaging program during an exciting expansion phase. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with new technology, including on-site training from application specialists and the GE team.
Position Overview
- Weekly Pay: $2,895 - $3,615 (Based on experience)
- Location: Initial mobile trailer setup, transitioning to a fixed practice site by October
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM CST
- Contract Length: 26 Weeks
- Clinical Focus: 100% Cardiology
Key Responsibilities
- Imaging Procedures: Perform cardiac PET/CT acquisitions following physician orders and established protocols.
- Patient Care: Explain procedures clearly to patients and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Radiation Safety: Administer radiopharmaceuticals using aseptic techniques while strictly adhering to ALARA guidelines and radiation safety protocols.
- Equipment Quality Control: Execute daily QC procedures on all imaging and non-imaging equipment prior to patient use.
- Documentation: Manage diagnostic imaging Electronic Medical Record (EMR) workflows (Veradigm/Touchworks preferred) and the SI image pack system.
- Safety & Compliance: Properly dispose of radioactive waste, maintain HIPAA compliance, and escalate emergencies promptly to the physician or RSO.
Qualifications
Required:
- Certification: Active Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (ARRT or NMTCB).
- Experience: At least 2 years of on-the-job experience in nuclear imaging.
- Life Support: ACLS trained (or willingness to complete training).
- Technical Skills: Computer literate and proficient with diagnostic imaging EMR workflows.
Preferred:
- PET/CT Experience: 1 year of experience is preferred (training will be provided on-site for the specific GE equipment).
- Advanced Certification: CT certification is a plus.
