Job Purpose:

The purpose of theTechnical Sales Associateis tomanage bid lists, securing plans and specifications, generating take-offs and project estimates, technical sales support for both Outside Sales team and respective contractors and managing projects to ensure profit targets are obtained

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and review project plans and specifications todeterminespecific product and services to be included in a binding estimate per the established guidelines.

  • Obtain special quotations from manufacturers asrequiredfor products whilemaintainingcompetitive pricing levels and to maximize gross margins.

  • High levelof judgement and decision making to ensure plans meet specifications of equipment

  • Providesexpertiseto make recommendations to plans and specifications

  • Independently makesuggestions and/or modificationsto ensure projectsare efficient andremain within budget

  • Coordinate prior approval requests with the engineering services department.

  • Populate job tracking system with pertinent information including basis of design info, quote values, etc.

  • Prepare complete andaccurateengineering submittals for product being ordered.

  • Answer application and technical questions as well as general customer service questions from mechanical contractors.

  • Prepare and generate orders to manufacturers for products being provided on awarded projects.

  • Managelogisticsto ensure product arrives at job site whenrequired.

  • Maintain proper margin levels and job accuracy to ensure that projects are billed correctly.

  • Partner with Outside Sales Force and keep them informed concerning product availability, shipping schedules, and over-all job status.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance

  • Works cooperatively with others

  • Comply withall company policies and procedures

  • Maintain regular,punctualand reliable attendanceand availability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Commercial HVAC project management experience preferred

  • Proficient in Outlook,Wordand Excel as well as ability to learn job specific software programs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

TravelRequirement:

  • 5%travel to branches and other operating companiesrequiringsome overnight stay, travel to industry related conferences and training requiring some extended stay
