We’re seeking an experienced and engaging Part TimeField Service Trainer to design and deliver impactful training for technicians working with utility metering systems (electric, gas, and water). This is a dynamic, travel-based role ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and helping teams perform at their best in the field.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring technicians are equipped with the knowledge, safety awareness, and technical skills needed to meet both company and regulatory standards.
What You’ll DoAs a Field Service Trainer, you will:
Design and deliver technical training programs using a mix of classroom, virtual, and hands-on instruction
Develop training materials and simulations aligned with company, state, and federal regulations
Train technicians on installation, operation, and maintenance of utility meters (electric, natural gas, water)
Evaluate and update training content based on regulatory changes and operational needs
Partner with field teams and leadership to analyze performance gaps and identify training needs
Provide on-the-job training and deliver both initial and refresher courses
Incorporate safety practices and risk awareness into all training programs
Maintain training facilities, equipment, and ensure a safe learning environment
Track and document training activities, including equipment calibration records
Use tools like PowerPoint, SharePoint, and email systems to support program delivery
Experience with utility meter systems (electric, gas, and/or water)
Proven ability to train, mentor, and communicate technical concepts clearly
Strong understanding of field service operations, installation, and maintenance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
Ability and willingness to travel regularly to multiple locations
Strong focus on safety, compliance, and customer service
