Expected Schedule
This is a full-time role
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- Some holidays will be required
Compensation
- $22-36/hr, based on experience and licensure
- up to $5,000 sign-on bonus, based on experience and licensure
Your Responsibilities
As a Surgical Veterinary Technician, you will collaborate closely with five board-certified surgeons, surgical residents, and interns. This position entails overseeing all facets of surgical nursing, from patient intake and diagnostics to anesthesia, surgical assistance, and post-operative recovery.
In this capacity, you will:
- Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Support various surgeries including soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and neurosurgeries
- Prepare surgical patients and uphold sterile techniques in the operating room
- Conduct post-operative care, treatments, and documentation
- Work in tandem with DVMs, residents, and the surgical support team to deliver exceptional care
- Engage compassionately with clients, ensuring patients are treated with kindness, dignity, and professionalism
- Assist with departmental flow, scheduling, and the upkeep of equipment and surgical supplies
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) or Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) preferred
- Strong background in anesthesia and surgical procedures
- Veterinary Assistants with significant surgical experience may also be considered
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care
