Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outpatient care to clinic patients while ensuring quality assurance, including eye examinations, vision testing, and diagnosing visual disorders and diseases.
  • Determine treatment plans and supervise appropriate interventions for conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetes.
  • Engage in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization reviews.
  • Examine patients of all ages to identify signs of injury, disease, abnormalities, or vision defects.
  • Provide spectacle prescriptions and write referral communications to other healthcare providers.
  • Interpret retinal scans and prescribe medications for eye-related conditions.
  • Contribute to the development of clinic protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality eye care.
  • Participate in utilization and peer review programs to assess the quality of optometry services provided at the clinics.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
  • Valid California Optometric License
  • Certification from the State of California for the treatment of ocular diseases
  • Certification from the State of California for the treatment of glaucoma
  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry institution
  • Current CPR certification
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Familiarity with Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records systems, preferably NextGen
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel), business email communication, and internet research capabilities
Compensation

Salary Range: $71.00 - $74.00 per hour, based on experience.
