Job Summary:
The role involves providing direct nursing care in alignment with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and oversees patient care plans, documenting and communicating patient conditions as necessary.
- Acts as the main coordinator among various disciplines to ensure cohesive patient care.
- Records and executes physician and nursing directives.
- Evaluates and organizes patient discharge planning in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Utilizes evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in nursing to deliver care tailored to the patient's age and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
- As a nurse at our organization, I will uphold the professional nursing standards defined in our practice model, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to navigate the evolving health and nursing needs of our patients.
- Maintains a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational background for licensing.
EXPERIENCE
- No prior experience is necessary.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly uses speech for oral communication.
- Constantly stands and walks.
- Frequently lifts, carries, and pushes/pulls objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Regularly sits, reaches, and uses a keyboard for data entry.
- Frequently utilizes vision for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, as well as color differentiation.
- Regularly uses smell to identify odors.
- Frequently uses hearing to receive verbal communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
- Occasionally lifts and moves objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasionally assists in lifting/moving patients.
- Occasionally bends, stoops, kneels, squats, twists, grips, and performs repetitive movements with feet/legs and hands/arms.
- Occasionally drives.
- Rarely crawls or runs.
