Position OverviewThis specialized role in Advanced Gastroenterology emphasizes ERCP and EUS procedures. The position offers the chance to initiate and enhance EUS services while expanding ERCP coverage.
- Balanced Work Schedule: 2.5 days dedicated to clinic work and 2.5 days for procedures, including OR and ASC.
- Dedicated Call Rotation: Advanced GI call is separate from general GI responsibilities.
- Flexible Scheduling: Options available, including a potential 4-day workweek.
- High-Volume Practice: Join a practice with a wait time of over 4 months.
- Reduced Patient Transfers: Opportunity to minimize out-of-area patient transfers.

This advanced position centers on intricate gastroenterology procedures and patient care:
- Advanced Procedural Services:
- ERCP (both diagnostic and therapeutic)
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) - opportunity to establish and grow the program
- Advanced endoscopy in various settings including hospitals, ASCs, and ORs
- Complex GI interventions and cancer staging
- Outpatient & Inpatient Services:
- 2.5 days per week in an outpatient clinic
- Inpatient consultations and procedures
- Collaboration with a robust general GI team
Care for adult patients requiring advanced GI interventions, including:
- Pancreaticobiliary diseases
- Complex bile duct and pancreatic disorders
- GI malignancies (staging and management)
- Therapeutic interventions for strictures, stones, and leaks
- Challenging esophageal, gastric, and colonic conditions
Experience a high demand for procedures with immediate ramp-up potential, including:
- A mix of advanced procedures, clinic visits, and inpatient consultations
- A strong referral network from general GI and community providers
Engage in teaching roles with the upcoming medical school, set to launch in Summer 2025, and participate in developing new residency programs. Opportunities for clinical education, lectures, and program development are available.
