Job Description
We are currently looking for a committed full-time Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our team in Buffalo, NY. This vibrant and family-oriented community is situated along the shores of Lake Erie. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology, providing both inpatient and outpatient care across various hospitals within our integrated healthcare system in Western New York.
As part of our organization, you will be part of a multispecialty physician group with outpatient facilities throughout the Buffalo-Niagara Region. Our strong support staff and ancillary services are integrated within a network of five hospitals, ensuring a robust presence in the area.
Key Features of the Position- Employment Type: Full Time
- Salary: Annual range of $450,000 - $550,000

- Graduation from an accredited medical school with either a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree.
- Current medical license to practice in New York State.
- Board certification in hematology and medical oncology.
- Adhere to established standards of practice as defined by state regulations, professional guidelines, and societal expectations.
- Deliver care that aligns with established practice protocols.
- Gather comprehensive medical histories and patient information.
- Consult with patients to identify the most suitable treatment options.
- Order and recommend diagnostic tests to assess the extent of illness.
- Formulate treatment plans tailored to the specific cancer or disease.
- Collaborate with the oncology team, including nurses, advanced practice providers, social workers, and other specialists, to coordinate patient care.
- Prescribe various treatments, including chemotherapy, medications, hormones, and blood transfusions.
- Support cancer patients through examinations, diagnoses, and treatment of blood, bone marrow, vascular, and immune system disorders.
- Conduct preventive screenings for blood and bone marrow disorders and provide treatments to enhance patient outcomes.
- Develop holistic treatment plans that are easily accessible in the electronic health record system.
- Utilize appropriate consultation and referral processes.
- Educate patients about their conditions, treatment options, expected outcomes, potential complications, and recovery timelines.
- Encourage high-quality care delivery, reporting, and adherence to policies aimed at continuous performance improvement.
