Job Opportunity: Surgical Oncologist

We are currently in search of a fellowship-trained, board-certified Surgical Oncologist to join our dedicated team, which includes another surgical oncologist and an advanced practice provider. We seek a collaborative and innovative physician who is enthusiastic about enhancing our established statewide cancer service line, contributing to the evolution of surgical oncology in central Iowa and the surrounding tertiary service area, which serves 1.5 million residents. Candidates requiring J-1 and H-1B visas are encouraged to apply.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Case Mix: Involves solid tumor surgeries, cytoreduction HIPEC, major gastrointestinal resections, thyroid/parathyroidectomies, Whipple procedures, and wide local excision with sentinel lymph node mapping.
  • Technology: Utilization of the DaVinci Xi robotic platform equipped with teaching consoles.
  • Facilities: Access to onsite medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services.
  • Operating Room: Block scheduling available.
  • Clinic Hours: Two half days per week.
  • Electronic Medical Records: EPIC system in use.
  • Teaching Role: Involvement with General Surgery Residency Faculty.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base Salary: $470,000.
  • Recruitment Incentive: $150,000.
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000.
  • Malpractice Coverage: Paid malpractice with tail coverage included.
  • Retirement Plans: 403B with matching contributions and a 457B savings plan.
  • Continuing Medical Education: Annual allowance of up to $6,000.

  • Advanced Radiation Oncology: Access to state-of-the-art therapies such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT).
  • Medical Oncology Expertise: A comprehensive range of systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted treatments.
  • Integrative Oncology and Patient Support: Comprehensive support services for patients and survivors, including dieticians, social workers, palliative care, mental health services, support groups, and integrative therapies like music, art, yoga, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and OMM.
