Role Summary:
A Beck Application Engineer is a technical specialist who serves as the critical bridge between customers, the sales team, and internal engineering and production departments. This role focuses on translating customer requirements into practical, reliable, product solutions, recommending optimal actuator configurations, and providing expert technical guidance throughout the sales and implementation process. The position demands a strong blend of mechanical / electrical engineering knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy direct customer interaction, thrive in a collaborative employee-owned culture, and are passionate about delivering engineered solutions that solve real-world control challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
The role begins with a structured training phase focused on mastering the Beck product line, the industries served, and actuator applications. Once foundational knowledge is established, the Application Engineer will independently field customer inquiries, provide technical support, and deliver quotations. Initial site visits and trade show participation will be conducted alongside experienced team members. As competency grows, the engineer will assume full ownership of the following responsibilities:
