Position Overview

Applicants must be enrolled in a Nursing program and either currently taking or have completed the Nursing Fundamentals course. Please confirm with your educational institution what qualifies as an equivalent course.

Become part of our exceptional Student Nurse Externship program, where you will enjoy flexibility and hands-on experience. We offer additional shadowing opportunities in units that interest you and support your preparation for a Graduate Nurse position.

For every 24 hours you work, you will earn 4 hours of paid shadowing time in any unit across our facilities. Are you nearing graduation? Consider interviewing for a Graduate Nurse position now and start early in that unit as a student nurse.

• The Nurse Extern provides high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a range of basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and daily living activities.
• Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern supports the nursing staff in delivering patient care in line with their skills and training, while also helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
• The Nurse Extern must be currently enrolled and in good standing at an accredited nursing school and can perform advanced procedures once competency is demonstrated.
• Flexible scheduling with opportunities to earn shadowing time in additional units.
• After orientation and clinical skills assessment, nursing students will gain hands-on experience working alongside a Registered Nurse, performing more nursing tasks.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing Program, with completion of Nursing Fundamentals.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
• High School diploma or GED.
