Job Overview and Qualifications
In the position of PACU Registered Nurse, you will be essential in providing immediate post-operative care for surgical patients. Your duties will encompass managing airway support, closely observing neurological and cardiac conditions, and swiftly addressing any complications or adverse effects. You will also administer initial wound care at the surgical site and ensure patient stability during the recovery phase. Collaboration with the surgical and anesthesia teams will be a key aspect of your role. This position requires on-call availability during certain non-business hours, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:
- Provide high-quality, patient-focused care while implementing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as a vital member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, collaborating with providers, therapists, and others
- Utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care
- Assess and monitor patient conditions throughout your shift, documenting any changes and the care provided
- Educate patients and their families or caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up care
Qualifications Required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- A minimum of 1 year of critical care experience is REQUIRED: ICU, ER, or PACU
