Exciting Opportunity for a General Non-Invasive Cardiologist
We are a physician-led, accountable multispecialty group comprising over 650 providers, and we are currently seeking a general non-invasive cardiologist to join our team.
About the Position
Become part of a 20-physician cardiovascular practice that is integrated within our health system, providing care across the region, including telemedicine and outreach initiatives. Our Heart Institute offers a comprehensive cardiovascular program with several unique services, such as:
- Accredited Chest Pain Center
- Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center
- Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery program
- CVOR that performed over 400 surgeries last year
- Expanding Cardiovascular Research program
- Dedicated Heart Failure Program
- Advanced Electrophysiology lab featuring Pulsed Field Ablation
- Robust Structural Heart Program (TAVR, mTEER, tTEER, Watchman, PFO/ASD)
- Prevention and Lifestyle Management Clinic
Our cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons collaborate with hospital administration to co-manage the cardiovascular service line effectively.

- 21 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
- 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons
- 4 Vascular Surgeons
- Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- CVOR, CVICU, and step-down unit

- A network of over 1,800 employed and independent providers
- Level II Trauma Center and Emergency Department
Work Schedule and Call
The clinic operates traditional hours from Monday to Friday. The selected candidate will primarily work at our main campus in Boise, with outreach clinics scheduled one to two times per month. Call responsibilities are shared equitably among physicians, with general call (primary) set at 1:7 (Boise hospital only) and interventional call (backup) at 1:5.
Preferred Skills
While nuclear cardiology skills and echo board certification are preferred, they are not mandatory for this position. Cardiac catheterization skills are also not required.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
- Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited cardiovascular disease residency and fellowship program
- Board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Cardiovascular Diseases or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) with certification of special qualification (CSQ) in Cardiology, or the ability to obtain such certification within three years of employment
- Current, unrestricted full medical license in Idaho and Oregon
- Ability to secure privileges at SARMC-Boise and other affiliated hospitals as necessary, along with valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA
- Obtain appropriate hospital medical staff privileges for procedures including electrocardiograms, heart monitors, echocardiogram interpretation, stress treadmill testing and supervision, stress echo, defibrillator and pacemaker checks, and transesophageal echocardiography
