<p>About the Opportunity:<br>• Job Title: Punch Press Production<br>• Pay Rate: $22.00/Hour (DOE)<br>• Location: Fridley, MN<br>• Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Thursday 5:30AM-4PM<br>• Position Type: Temp to Hire<br><br>Requirements and Qualifications:<br>• High School Diploma or GED required. <br>• Must be willing to attend any schooling necessary to complete the future educational requirements.<br>• Adequate computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft. <br>• Ability to effectively read, write and speak the English language or the ability to communication effectively in this plant environment.<br>• Proficient at advance shop mathematics.<br>• Requires a high degree of attention, mental alertness, and care to prevent injury to self and others when operating machines.<br>• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift.<br>• Regularly bends, twists, stoops, pushes, pulls and reaches with hands and arms.<br>• Must be able to stand or sit as needed for the entire shift.<br>• Very keen vision and hearing is required.<br>• Must have good physical strength and stamina, good hand-eye coordination and good dexterity in hand manipulation and muscle coordination.<br>• Exposed to loud noise most of the shift. Authorized hearing protection is required.<br>• Exposed to a wide range of heat and cold, primarily due to normal fluctuations in indoor production area temperatures, and occasionally due to exposure to outdoor conditions.<br>• Regularly works with cutting oils and solvents.<br><br>Duties and Responsibilities:<br>• Operates a variety of punch press equipment to produce metal parts that meet print specifications.<br>• May include basic machine set-up.<br>• Performs all duties and responsibilities with an emphasis on safety.<br>• With close supervision, operates most types of punch press equipment, including coil or sheet fed presses and drill presses, by feeding and controlling their operation. <br>• Works from work orders and prints for each job, using shop calculations/math, to ensure proper types, quantities and quality of each part are produced. <br>• Uses a variety of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform part inspections before and during each production run.<br>• Monitors machines at all times for proper operation.<br>• Completes all shop traveler and timekeeping documentation as required for each job.<br>• Continuous learning with regard to machine operation in order to gain skills and proficiency to operate more complicated machines on more difficult work, including machine setup.<br>• Works with close supervision in coordination with other team members and other departments in the company.<br>• Keeps work area clean and orderly.<br>• Other duties as assigned.<br><br>Discover Award Staffing: <br>At Award Staffing, we believe that work should be more than just a paycheck—it should inspire, empower, and create a sense of purpose.
