VA-Accredited Attorney
Job Description
SSACORP is seeking an experienced VA-accredited attorney to join our growing veterans disability practice. We represent veterans nationwide before the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Board of Veterans' Appeals, helping them obtain the benefits they earned through their military service.
We are looking for an attorney who already understands the VA disability system and enjoys building strong appellate arguments, preparing veterans for hearings, and advocating for clients through every stage of the appeals process.
This is a fully remote position with a dedicated legal support team that handles much of the administrative work, allowing our attorneys to focus on legal strategy and client advocacy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Representing veterans before the VA and the Board of Veterans' Appeals
- Conducting consultations with prospective clients
- Reviewing C-Files, service treatment records, and VA medical records
- Developing case strategy and identifying favorable legal and medical evidence
- Preparing veterans for Board hearings
- Conducting virtual Board hearings
- Drafting Statements in Support of Claim, legal briefs, motions, and correspondence
- Advising clients throughout the appeals process
- Working collaboratively with our legal support staff to move cases efficiently
Required:
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- VA accreditation under 38 C.F.R. § 14.629
- Experience representing veterans in VA disability claims and appeals
- Experience with the Appeals Modernization Act (AMA)
- Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills
- Excellent client communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred:
- Experience conducting Board of Veterans' Appeals hearings
- Familiarity with CAVC practice
- Experience reviewing complex medical evidence
- Experience supervising or mentoring legal staff
