Regional Sales Manager, Southeast – EFI Polymers

This full-time position reports to the Vice President of Sales and is responsible for managing and growing EFI’s sales & sales channels of its formulated epoxy, polyurethane, and water-based systems in the Southeastern United States. The position requires a dynamic, technically skilled sales person with a proven track record of developing a territory, growing sales and building long-term customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities: Develop a plan, then implement and execute a growth strategy that produces annual growth rates of > 10%.

Experience Background should Include: Electrical potting compounds, Adhesives, Industrial Coating (100% solids and waterborne).

Candidate should have a practical knowledge of commercial chemistries: Epoxy and Urethane Systems, PVAs, Polyurea, Waterborne acrylic and Urethane dispersions.

Expected Results: Success will be measured exclusively in dollars of added revenue that meet gross margin guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities in Managing a Sales Territory:

• Meet or exceed volume, revenue and margin targets for the territory.


• Manage all aspects of customer and market interface in the territory.


• Serve as the 1st line of technical and commercial customer support.


• Defend and grow existing business and identify new opportunities in the territory.


• Develop high quality customer relationships with key decision makers.


• Work with the business, technology and commercial support functions to execute plans and meet business objectives for the territory.


• Communicate market intelligence and account updates for customers and markets through timely submission of contact reports, new business opportunities, e-mails, voicemails, follow-up letters, and other means of communication as necessary.

SKILLS:

• Direct sales skills (finding new targets, contacting new customers, managing projects and closing business)


• Establish sales in new or expanded markets


• Corporate planning (forecasting sales, sales expenses and margin projections)


• Prospecting both individually and with the direction of the established sales channels


• Managing and driving an established manufacturer’s rep firm, while holding them accountable for results

Position Dimensions:

Geography: The position may be based in the Southeast US, Northeast US, or Western US. Though other states may be acceptable, depending on the candidate. Occasional travel to Mexico, Asia & Europe (opportunity dependent). The candidate is expected to work out of a home office. A mobile phone, laptop computer and travel reimbursement is provided.

Estimated Travel:

Approximately 45%-55% overnight travel.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• The individual should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in formulated products and chemical sales, laboratory experience is a plus. There should be a working knowledge of the markets, applications and the customers and their decision makers.


• The individual should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in long-sales cycle B2B technical sales with a proven track record of large opportunity closure and year-over-year growth.


• BS/MS in Chemistry or Engineering , or Business


• The individual must have strong commercial, negotiation, organizational, communication, technical and follow-up skills. A demonstrated ability to “close deals”, work and flourish as part of a team and strong interest and ability in learning new technology. Computer proficiency and influence skills to sell internally and externally.

We serve the original equipment area of the electronics and electrical industry as well as industrial coatings and adhesives markets since 1993.
