Job Description

Overview


We are seeking a Locum Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient medical care focused on continuity of care, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and patient wellness. This role is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a variety of health conditions while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.


This is a 60-day locum assignment located in Indianapolis, IN, with the potential for future opportunities, although permanent conversion is not guaranteed.




Responsibilities



  • Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care and treatment

  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions

  • Conduct patient evaluations and maintain detailed medical histories and records

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress

  • Focus on preventive care, wellness, and disease prevention initiatives

  • Educate patients on treatment options, health conditions, and healthy lifestyle practices

  • Coordinate care and refer patients to specialists when appropriate

  • Review diagnostic results and incorporate findings into care plans

  • Collaborate with clinical staff and healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care

  • Support initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes and patient experiences

  • Exercise independent clinical judgment in managing complex patient cases




Required Qualifications



  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the applicable state of practice Board Certification in: Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience

  • Strong knowledge of outpatient and primary care medicine

  • Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage complex patient care situations

  • Completion of required Tuberculosis (TB) screening for patient-facing healthcare roles

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and improving patient experiences




Preferred Qualifications



  • Internal Medicine specialty training.

  • Experience in preventive care, value-based care, or population health management.

  • Experience working with diverse patient populations.

  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
