About the Company



Open Door Care Network is associated with the Family Medicine Residency Program and provides comprehensive family medicine care through its Family Medicine Clinic (FMC) and other associated clinics.



About the Role



Family Medicine Residency Program- General Faculty Duties include teaching residents and medical students, providing comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care, curriculum development, and active participation in residency program activities and faculty development.



Responsibilities



  • Teaching residents and medical students.
  • Precepting up to 4 sessions (half days) per week of comprehensive outpatient care, (may be replaced with direct patient care sessions based on program/faculty needs), including prenatal care and procedural care.
  • Outpatient medicine/Direct patient care: providing comprehensive care to all ages of your own patient panel in our FMC (family medicine clinic) between 1-3 full days per week.
  • Providing exemplary teaching pertinent to direct patient care.
  • Maintaining a continuity panel of patients in the FMC or another clinic associated with Open Door Family Medical Centers, Inc., and role model for the residents by following their care in the hospital and other locations.
  • Taking part in rotating faculty preceptor coverage in the FMC (up to one Saturday per month, one evening a month, as needed, from 5-8pm).
  • Participating in inpatient teaching rounds several times a year, as a minimum; if more inpatient medicine teaching is desired/needed, this can be arranged.
  • Clinical care includes full scope family medicine: geriatrics, pediatrics including neonatal, gynecology, prenatal care, mental health including psychotherapy/counseling, resuscitation, and the procedures that family physicians typically teach in residency programs.
  • Faculty advisor for 4 to 6 residents.
  • Curriculum development.
  • Giving at least 6 lectures per year.
  • Participation in meetings, interviewing residency applicants, answering surveys, participation in the management of the FMC, Phelps Hospital and rotations as it pertains to teaching and learning environment.
  • Evaluation of residents and medical students.
  • Participation in community outreach activities, including residency fairs, community and sporting events, residency educational conferences.
  • Collaborating with faculty and administrative team to ensure ACGME family medicine requirements are met.
  • Provide after hours back up call for FMC in rotation with other faculty.
  • Active participation in faculty development.
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies, policies and procedures.
