Moody AFB, Valdosta, GA | Full-time, on-site | Pay: $63,000+ per year, based on experience | Starts Nov 16, 2026, contingent on contract award
OPTML is bidding to provide Human Performance Optimization support at Moody AFB, and we're building the team now. You'd keep Airmen healthy and mission-ready across the 93d Air Ground Operations Wing, the 820th Base Defense Group, the 71st Rescue Squadron, and the 23d Civil Engineer Squadron, working under the 93 AGOW Physical Therapist and the 23d Wing Surgeon.
What you'll do
- Evaluate and treat musculoskeletal injuries, including on- and off-site emergency evaluation and triage
- Screen Airmen for injury risk and re-evaluate over time
- Run rehab and corrective exercise, taping, bracing, and orthotics
- Build strength and conditioning work that lowers injury risk
- Document every patient encounter in Government medical systems (training provided)
What you need (all required)
- Graduate of a CAATE-accredited athletic training program
- Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related health science field
- Current BOC certification
- Full, unrestricted license in any U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
- Certified in at least one soft-tissue technique: Active Release Techniques (ART), instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (e.g. Graston, ASTYM, SASTM), or dry needling
- At least 2 years of full-time experience treating musculoskeletal injuries in a clinic or training room, with military, professional, Olympic, or collegiate athletes. At least 1 of those years within the last 2.
- American Red Cross CPR/BLS/AED
- Able to pass a federal Tier 1 background check
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8 hours a day, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
- Federal holidays off
- Occasional travel with the unit inside the U.S., plus occasional early, late, or weekend support for surges and special events

- This job depends on the Air Force awarding OPTML the contract. Our bid has to name the people who'll do the work, so we'll ask finalists for a signed letter of intent.
