Role Description The Prepress Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Cincinnati, OH. Must be able to run a Ricoh 4x8 flatbed printer. This position prepares customer artwork and files for print production by reviewing, correcting, and optimizing digital files for various printing processes. Day-to-day tasks include checking file integrity, adjusting layouts, managing color profiles, and ensuring proper bleed, resolution, and file formats. The Prepress Operator will set up and operate pre-press equipment, perform plate making and CTP (computer-to-plate) processes, and coordinate with press operators and account teams to meet production schedules. The role also involves troubleshooting pre-press issues, maintaining accurate documentation, and following quality and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong print production knowledge, including experience with printing workflows and scheduling.


• Hands-on experience in pre-press operations such as file preparation, imposition, and color management.


• Proficiency with CTP systems and plate making processes, including equipment setup and basic maintenance.


• Familiarity with printing technologies and materials, with the ability to translate client specifications into print-ready files.


• Working knowledge of industry-standard graphic design and prepress software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, RIP software).


• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines in a production environment.


• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with press operators, designers, and customer service teams.


• Previous experience in a print shop or manufacturing environment; vocational training or relevant certification in printing or graphic arts is beneficial.
