Role Description The Orthodontic Assistant is a full-time, on-site position based in Irwin, PA. This role supports orthodontists during patient appointments by preparing treatment rooms, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits. Daily responsibilities include taking and recording patient information, preparing and sterilizing instruments, managing orthodontic appliances, and providing clear instructions for at-home care. The Orthodontic Assistant also helps maintain accurate patient records, supports scheduling and follow-up coordination, and contributes to a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment. Qualifications
Strong foundational skills in Dental Care and Dentistry to support routine orthodontic treatments.
Knowledge and practical experience in Orthodontics, including handling braces, aligners, and related appliances.
Competence in Sterilization and Dental Assisting practices to maintain safety, infection control, and treatment efficiency.
Relevant dental assisting certification or licensure in Pennsylvania (or eligibility to obtain), with prior experience in an orthodontic or dental office preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain procedures and home-care instructions clearly to patients of all ages.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment as part of a collaborative team.
Basic computer skills for managing electronic health records, scheduling, and documentation.
