Role Description The Medical Doctor at Providence Medical Center will provide comprehensive patient care, including conducting physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans in accordance with clinical guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing patient consultations, prescribing medications, documenting encounters in the medical record, and coordinating care with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. The physician will educate patients and families on prevention, treatment options, and health maintenance, while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This is a full-time, on-site role based in South Plainfield, NJ, requiring regular participation in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Valid MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or a related specialty.
  • Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license (or eligibility to obtain), and current board certification or board eligibility in relevant specialty.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care across a range of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with diverse patient populations and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development, and adherence to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in healthcare.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and accurate clinical documentation practices.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage a full patient schedule, and maintain composure and sound judgment in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Experience in community or primary care settings is preferred; additional language skills and familiarity with local community health resources are a plus.
