Position Overview

As Tax Manager, you will serve as a trusted advisor to closely held business owners and work closely with partners, staff, and clients on compliance, planning, and consulting engagements.

This role has a strong focus on pass-through entity taxation, business advisory services, staff development, and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on a broad range of federal and state tax matters


• Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services


• Manage tax engagements from planning through delivery


• Review complex Forms 1065, 1120-S, 1120, and related 1040 returns


• Review financial statements and related workpapers


• Manage engagement budgets and billing


• Develop and maintain strong client relationships


• Mentor, coach, and develop tax staff and seniors


• Perform technical tax research and communicate recommendations clearly


• Participate in business development, networking, and practice growth initiatives


• Collaborate with firm leadership to improve processes and client service

Qualifications

Required

• Active CPA license


• 6+ years of recent public accounting experience with an emphasis on tax


• Significant experience with partnership and S corporation taxation


• Experience managing multiple client relationships


• Experience leading, supervising, and mentoring staff


• Strong technical research and problem-solving skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Experience with multi-state taxation


• Experience with closely held businesses and high-net-worth owners


• Familiarity with CCH Axcess


• Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement


• M&A Experience


• Strong understanding of GAAP financial statements


• Interest in business development and practice growth

Compensation

Compensation will be determined based on experience, technical expertise, leadership skills, and overall qualifications. The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000.
