Maintenance Operations Technician
Location: Stratford, CT
Pay: $30–$35/hr.
Schedule: Multiple shifts available
Experience: 3–5 years preferred
Overtime: Available, including weekends during busy season
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Technician with a strong background in industrial manufacturing equipment maintenance and mechanical repair. This is a hands-on maintenance role supporting production equipment, machinery, electrical systems, and related industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a manufacturing environment such as food & beverage, medical manufacturing, high-precision manufacturing, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
Schedule
- 2 Morning Shift openings: 3:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- 1 Afternoon Shift opening: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- 8.5-hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch
- Overtime available based on business needs
- Weekend work may be required during busy periods
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of industrial production equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical equipment issues and determine appropriate repairs.
- Disassemble machinery and repair or replace defective components.
- Maintain and repair motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and other mechanical equipment.
- Perform electrical repairs and installations as needed.
- Clean, lubricate, adjust, and inspect machinery and equipment.
- Start up and operate production equipment and lines.
- Inspect completed repairs to ensure equipment is operating safely and properly.
- Identify and address unsafe equipment or working conditions.
- Maintain inventory of parts, equipment, and supplies.
- Order replacement parts with management approval.
- Support production and maintenance teams during equipment issues or emergencies.
- Assist skilled trades personnel and maintenance apprentices as needed.
- Follow OSHA, GMP, HACCP, SQF, food safety, and other applicable safety requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments.
- Support special maintenance projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance/mechanical experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Electrical troubleshooting/repair experience or electrical license.
- PLC, low-voltage, and industrial controls knowledge.
- Welding experience.
- Forklift certification.
- Equipment manufacturer certifications.
- Industrial building/equipment maintenance experience.
- Experience with motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, and similar equipment.

Please note: This position is primarily focused on industrial machinery and production equipment maintenance. We are not seeking HVAC technicians or general facilities maintenance professionals whose experience is primarily building/HVAC focused.

Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift/move up to 75 lbs.
- Work primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor activities.
- Comfortable working around moderate to loud noise.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
- Ability to wear required PPE and protective clothing.
- Schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on business needs.
