Director of Risk Management

My client is in search of a Director of Risk Management toprovide occupational risk assessment, safety consulting, and risk management services to their PEO program. Will work closely with PEO clients, brokers, underwriting, claims, and service teams to identify, evaluate, and solve workplace risks while supporting client retention, profitability, and growth.

Responsibilities:

• Manage master workers' compensation policies, loss-control programs, and claims litigation to lower modifier rates.


• Audit prospective and active client companies for safety hazards, high-risk job classifications, and loss history before onboarding.


• Enforce occupational health and safety standards, guiding clients on OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and state-specific labor laws.


• Oversee corporate insurance portfolios, broker relationships, and captive or large-deductible programs.


• Design organization-wide risk frameworks, return-to-work programs, and client-facing safety education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.


• 7 to 10+ years of progressive risk management experience, ideally within the PEO, insurance, or HCM industry.


• Professional designations such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) preferred


• Deep expertise in workers' compensation underwriting, enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks, employment law, and data analytics.
