Head of People

Our client, a Series B LegalTech Startup, is looking for a Head of People to join their growing team.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution. The right person will be equally comfortable building recruiting processes, advising leadership on organizational challenges, and stepping in operationally when needed.

About the Role:

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Lead and scale the recruiting function across business and operational hiring


• Partner with leadership to develop headcount plans aligned with company growth objectives


• Build recruiting processes that improve speed, quality, and candidate experience


• Develop employer branding and talent attraction strategies


• Personally engage on critical and leadership hires when needed

People Operations & Organizational Development

• Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on organizational structure, team effectiveness, and performance management


• Build scalable people programs across onboarding, engagement, feedback, and retention


• Drive performance review processes and leadership development initiatives


• Establish thoughtful policies, systems, and operating rhythms that support a high-performance culture


• Partner with managers on coaching, employee relations, and team development

Culture & Leadership

• Help shape and reinforce company culture during a period of rapid growth


• Create accountability and clarity across teams while maintaining a strong employee experience


• Support leadership in driving communication, alignment, and change management


• Build trust across all levels of the organization through strong judgment and emotional intelligence

About You:

• 8+ years of experience across People Operations, HR, and Talent Acquisition


• Experience in high-growth startup or scaling environments


• Proven ability to operate strategically while remaining highly hands-on


• Strong recruiting background with experience personally driving hiring outcomes


• Ability to build systems and processes from the ground up


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


• High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and strong operational instincts


• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities

Nice to Have:

• Experience supporting distributed or multi-location teams


• Exposure to operationally intensive businesses or services organizations


• Background working closely with founders or executive leadership teams


• Experience building people infrastructure during periods of rapid scaling
