SwiftGov builds AI-native plan review, document review, and compliance software for governments. We are live in production with cities and counties, with new products for governments in R&D.

We are hiring an engineer to work alongside our founders and team. You will support rapidly advancing platforms that governments rely on, and help build what comes next. The work runs from spec to production with agentic coding tools. You will learn fast, and we will teach you our domain and our playbook. This is a high-impact role: what you build helps governments modernize and serve their communities faster.

What you will do

- Support our founders and team on our live platforms: new features, fixes, and improvements.

- Prototype and build new products for governments, now in R&D.

- Work to enterprise and government standards for security, compliance, and reliability.

- Use agentic coding tools, and check the work before it goes live.

- Handle the everyday technical work a small team needs: debugging, scripts, data, integrations.

Who you are

- Curious and adaptable. You pick up new tools and domains quickly, and you enjoy it.

- Excited about AI. You already build with it every day.

- A finisher. You have built and launched working software, at a job or on your own.

- A generalist at heart. Comfortable across a modern web stack (front end, APIs, databases) and happy to work outside your lane.

- Familiar with enterprise or government software, where security and compliance come first. Or ready to learn it fast.

- Coachable and direct. You take feedback, own mistakes, and say what you think.

Bonus: experience building with LLMs.

Non-traditional backgrounds welcome

You do not need a computer science degree or a big-company resume. Self-taught builders, career changers, and generalists are welcome. We are most interested in people with interesting accomplishments: something you built, started, fixed, or won, in software or anywhere else.
