Mid-Level Antitrust Associate
Job Description
A leading Am Law firm is seeking a mid-level Antitrust Associate to join its highly regarded Antitrust practice in Washington, DC.
This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated, broad-based antitrust practice handling matters across complex litigation, government investigations, merger review and strategic counseling. The successful candidate will work on high-profile matters involving the FTC, DOJ and state attorneys general, while gaining meaningful responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to develop across the full spectrum of antitrust law.
The position offers a salary range of $215,000 – $355,000, depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in complex antitrust litigation, including high-profile and multi-district proceedings.
- Handle matters involving parallel civil litigation and government investigations.
- Represent clients before the FTC, DOJ and state attorneys general in conduct and merger investigations.
- Work on investigations involving alleged price-fixing, market allocation, monopolization and other potentially anticompetitive conduct.
- Advise clients on mergers and transactions presenting competition and regulatory concerns.
- Provide strategic antitrust counseling regarding distribution practices, competitive collaborations, non-compete arrangements and other commercial issues.
- Assist clients with the development and implementation of antitrust compliance programs.
- Deliver antitrust training and presentations to senior executives, management teams and boards.
- Take meaningful responsibility for matters while working directly with partners and clients.
Qualifications:
- Junior to mid-level associate with substantive antitrust experience, ideally gained within a leading antitrust practice.
- Broad exposure across antitrust litigation, investigations, merger review and/or counseling is preferred.
- Experience engaging directly with the FTC and/or DOJ is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of U.S. antitrust law and current enforcement trends.
- Excellent written advocacy, analytical and legal research skills.
- Strong litigation and advocacy capabilities.
- Ability to manage matters with a high degree of autonomy and sound judgment.
- Commercial, practical approach to complex legal and business issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
