Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technology Business Engagement Manager for a 9-month consulting engagement. This individual will serve as a strategic liaison between business leadership and IT, helping translate business priorities into technology strategies, capability roadmaps, investment plans, and executable initiatives.


The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of business relationship management, technology strategy, portfolio management, and project planning, with specific experience supporting Marketing & Sales organizations and technologies. This is a highly visible, business-facing position requiring strong executive communication skills and the ability to navigate a complex, matrixed organization.


Schedule


This is a 9-month contract opportunity with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days onsite per week in Ewing, NJ. Candidates should be within a reasonable commuting distance and comfortable working closely with business and IT leadership onsite.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business and IT leadership to develop and maintain Business/IT Capability Roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Create Business Architecture Diagrams, Capability Taxonomies, and Technology Mappings to provide visibility into current and future-state capabilities.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with business leadership, communicating technology priorities, investments, risks, and progress.
  • Develop and maintain IT Project Roadmaps, coordinating quarterly updates with business stakeholders and IT delivery teams.
  • Develop comprehensive business cases in partnership with business owners, including benefits, costs, ROI, and investment summaries.
  • Create and steward Project Concept Review and Project Commitment Packets, documenting scope, costs, benefits, architecture, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Lead the functional aspects of vendor RFPs, partnering with business stakeholders, IT delivery teams, vendors, and Procurement to drive technology selection.
  • Coordinate project resource planning, including internal business/IT resources and external vendor resources.
  • Partner with Procurement and delivery teams on vendor contracts, NDAs, Statements of Work, licensing agreements, and order forms.
  • Collaborate with IT Finance on ROI schedules, investment summaries, project costs, and capital expense requests.
  • Support business transition and change management activities, including Change Impact Assessments, Coalition Maps, Transition Strategies, and Communication & Engagement Plans.
  • Conduct project validation and supplier assessments.
  • Advise project teams on executive and governance deliverables, including Steering Committee presentations, executive readouts, weekly status reports, and SDLC documentation.
  • Maintain project and portfolio information within Planview.
  • Manage project and ongoing technology financial information within Apptio.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Information Technology or relevant industry experience, including responsibility for technology initiatives, resources, programs, or portfolios.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Strong experience supporting Marketing & Sales business functions and related technology environments.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including experience supporting vendor selection, SOWs, contracts, and technology investments.
  • Experience working within a large, matrixed organization.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
  • Experience with Planview and Apptio is highly preferred.
