Job Description

Retirement Plan Coordinator (Entry Level)

About the role

This is an entry-level role for someone ready to start a career in retirement plan administration. No prior retirement plan experience is required, but it is preferred.

As a Retirement Plan Coordinator at Emparion, you will work with clients in their first year with us. You will help new plan sponsors get set up, gather required information, and understand what to expect during their first plan year. You will work alongside our Defined Benefit Plan Administrators, who will mentor you as you learn.

This role is designed to grow. As you build skills and experience, you will have a clear path toward becoming a Defined Benefit Plan Administrator.

What you'll do

Serve as a friendly, reliable point of contact for clients in their first year with Emparion.

Help new clients through onboarding by requesting, collecting, and tracking the documents and data we need. This will be done daily via scheduled phone calls.

Explain our process, timelines, and next steps in plain, clear language.

Track assigned plans and their routine first-year milestones, such as census collection, compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, and annual statements.

Record and follow up on open items, and flag issues to your team early so nothing falls through the cracks.

Support our Defined Benefit Plan Administrators with day-to-day plan work and client requests.

Learn retirement plan rules and our services through hands-on training and mentorship.

Help with other tasks and team projects as needed.

Strong attention to detail and organization

Comfort working in a small, collaborative team

Nice to have

Exposure to retirement plans or financial services

Interest in earning an industry credential, such as ASPPA's QKA over time

Pay:$50,000 to $60,000 per year

Job type: Full-time

Location: Fully remote

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift

Training: Hands-on training and mentorship from experienced administrators

Growth: A clear path toward a Defined Benefit Plan Administrator role
