Job Description

About BIM Synergistics

BIM Synergistics is a digital construction company specializing in BIM Coordination Leadership and MEP construction detailing for commercial projects across the United States. Our work includes large-scale data centers, hospitals, and other complex commercial projects where quality coordination and project leadership drive the outcomes.

We value people over processes. We invest in careers, not just positions. We bring people, technology, and systems together — and we are building the premier team for everything digital in construction management and BIM coordination as we scale across the country.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership role. We are hiring an MEP Detailing Manager to lead our detailing team, own detailing production from kickoff through fabrication-ready deliverables, run quality control, and develop Revit detailers.

The right person is an experienced detailer with a specialty in electrical, plumbing and piping, or mechanical ductwork with a working understanding of the other MEP trades. You have built fabrication-level models, produced shop and fabrication drawings, and you know how the work gets installed in the field. Communication is a must, as you will serve as the BIM Synergistics lead with the client management and field teams, along with all other project participants. This role will be in the models most of the week and, as the team grows, will shift toward leading production, standards, and people.

Our Core Values

Technical skill matters. Values alignment matters more. We expect every team member to live these daily:

● Do The Right Thing: Take extreme ownership. Go the extra mile. Be disciplined.

● Be A Servant Leader: Take initiative. Exemplify truth. Stay humble.

● Always Be Learning: Have a growth mindset. Pursue excellence. Fail forward.

● Build Positive Relationships: Put others first. Be encouraging. Communicate effectively.

What You Will Own

● Lead MEP detailing production on active projects from kickoff through fabrication and shop drawing deliverables.

● Produce fabrication-level models in your specialty trade, assist and manage detailing across all MEP scopes.

● Lead and develop our detailing team, including our production detailers, assignments, standards, deadlines, and training.

● Own quality control on detailing deliverables before they go to the client or the fabrication shop.

● Own the path from coordinated model to fabrication models, including spool sheets, cut lists, BOMs, prefab assemblies, and shop packages.

● Bring continuous improvement to the process, including but not limited to detailing standards, templates, content, and workflows.

● Put constructability and field installation first with routing, hangers and supports, access, clearances, sequencing, and prefab opportunities.

● Partner with our VDC team in BIM coordination meetings, representing our detailing scope and driving conflicts to resolution.

● Communicate directly with clients, GCs, and MEP subcontractors on schedule, status, and issues; escalate early and own the path to resolution.

● Track model progress, issues, and RFIs through Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, or similar platforms.

● Be responsible for all model production budgets and resources

You Are a Strong Fit If

● You know your trade deeply, can not only model it in full yourself but have led others throughout the process

● You have led detailers, not just worked next to them. You have assigned the work, checked it, and owned the deadline.

● You model the way the work gets built

● You are proactive in all you do, catching problems before they become an issue.

● You take charge without being told the next step, and you finish strong.

● You are comfortable on calls with clients and trade partners.

● You want to build systems and people as much as the next model.

Required Qualifications

● 5+ years of hands-on MEP detailing producing fabrication-level models and shop drawings.

● A specialty in electrical, plumbing and piping, or mechanical ductwork, with working knowledge of the other MEP trades.

● 2+ years leading or mentoring detailing teams

● Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit at a fabrication level of detail, including Revit fabrication parts, and 3rd party plug in systems such as eVolve MEP.

● Experience producing fabrication and installation deliverables in your trade, for example, spool drawings and cut lists for piping, duct fabrication for sheet metal, or conduit, rack, and prefab assemblies for electrical.

● Proficiency with Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Bluebeam.

● Strong understanding of constructability, sequencing, and field installation.

● US-based, able to work remotely with a private, professional home-office setup for frequent virtual meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

● Detailing experience on data centers, hospitals, semiconductor facilities, or other complex, MEP-heavy projects.

● Experience with Autodesk Fabrication (CADmep, ESTmep, or CAMduct) or other trade-specific fabrication software such as eVolve MEP or BIMPro.

● Experience working directly with a fabrication shop.

● Field, trade, or MEP subcontractor background.

● Experience leading distributed or offshore production teams.

● Experience building detailing standards, content libraries, or templates.

What Success Looks Like

● Deliverables go out on time, meet the standard, and provide the details and accuracy teams need in the field and in the shop.

● Problems are caught in the model, not at the fabrication shop or on site.

● Clients and fabrication shops trust our models and come back for more work.

● Detailers get better because you develop them, and the team takes on harder work over time.

● Our detailing standards, templates, and workflows are used and improved from one project to the next.

● The team grows with more projects, more people, higher standards, without quality slipping.

What We Offer

● Performance bonus tied to company results and project outcomes.

● 100% remote work from anywhere in the US, during standard US business hours.

● Healthcare and dental coverage.

● 401(k) with company match.

● Personal flex days during the summer months and the Christmas holiday.

How to Apply

Send your resume with a short cover letter that answers two questions:

● Describe a project where you led a detailing team and what you owned.

● Which of our Core Values means the most to you, and where have you lived it at work?

Applications without a cover letter answering both questions will not be considered.
