Director of Finance And Accounting

This Director of Finance position is the one you have been looking for!This direct hire/full time Director of Finance in Northern VA maintains the financial integrity of the Association and its subsidiaries. This position also includes the oversight of all day-to-day accounting operations, as well as the supervision of Finance staff.

Director of Finance Responsibilities:

• Prepare and publish accurate and timely monthly financial statements and multiple subsidiaries


• Review, Analyze and integrate as required financial activity of subsidiaries


• Research technical accounting issues for compliance


• Analyze and communicate results of operations to internal and external stakeholders


• Manage year-end audits, working closely with external accounting firm


• Oversight of tax filings of the Association and its subsidiaries


• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements


• Administrator of financial systems – Accounting, Reporting, Planning, Design and maintain internal controls over financial activities through policy and oversight


• Develop, document, and maintain business processes and accounting policies


• Assist in coordination and direction of budget and planning


• Report investment activities and review compliance to investment policy


• Supervision of finance staff

Director of Finance Requirements:

• Minimum four-year Degree in Finance/Accounting


• CPA or CPA candidate required


• Minimum 8-10 years accounting experience, including supervision of a small staff


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products


• Experience using accounting packages (Sage Intacct Accounting, Workday Adaptive Insights)


• Highly organized, detailed oriented with experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously


• Internal and External Contacts: The Director of Finance must maintain good working relations with Executive Staff, as well as all other members of staff. This position also requires communication with the Executive Committee, Directors, Members, Company Partners, and Vendors of the Association.
