Civil Estimator - Chicago, IL

Metric Geo is confidentially partnered with an established heavy civil contractor looking to add an experienced Estimator to its team in the Chicago market.

The focus is on candidates with a strong background in civil construction estimating, covering earthwork, highway, roadway, and infrastructure projects. IDOT or DOT experience is beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and competitive bids.
• Review plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Work closely with Operations and Project Management teams to develop bids.
• Identify project risks, cost efficiencies, and value engineering opportunities.

Ideal Background

• Estimating experience within civil or heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of earthwork, roadway, highway, or infrastructure projects.
• IDOT or DOT estimating experience advantageous.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, quantities, and bid preparation.
