$285,000–$345,000 + Bonus

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Labor Associate to join the Chicago office of a highly regarded national law firm within its established management-side Labor practice.

This position is focused specifically on traditional labor law and is ideally suited to an attorney with substantive experience representing management in union-related matters, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration and proceedings before the NLRB.

The Role

Your work will include:

• Representing employers in grievance arbitration proceedings.


• Handling unfair labor practice matters.


• Advising employers during union organising campaigns.


• Supporting and leading collective bargaining negotiations.


• Representing clients before the NLRB.


• Advising management on NLRA compliance.


• Preparing employers for strikes and other labor disputes.


• Providing labor relations training to management.


• Developing union avoidance and employee-relations strategies.


• Working collaboratively with labor attorneys across a national platform.

About You

The successful candidate will possess:

• 4–6 years' dedicated management-side labor law experience.


• Experience representing employers in traditional labor matters.


• Grievance arbitration experience.


• NLRB experience.


• Strong collective bargaining knowledge.


• Ability to manage matters independently.


• Excellent written advocacy and communication skills.


• Illinois Bar admission or appropriate eligibility.


• Spanish-language capability would be advantageous but is not essential.
