Title: Accounting Supervisor

Location: Leesburg, VA (Hybrid )

Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000 base + Bonus

Our client, a growing construction/engineering firm here in the Leesburg, Va area, is adding an Accounting Supervisor to their team.

Reporting up to the Controller and managing 1 staff accountant (w/ opportunity to take on more) this person will own the monthly close across two U.S. operating entities, including WIP schedules and over/under billings, job costing and cost-to-complete, AIA/progress billing, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition. They will also be the liaison for external auditors across two entity-level audits and supporting the parent company’s mid-year review.

What you’ll own

• The month-end, quarter-end and year-end close across two U.S. operating entities
• WIP schedules, over/under billings and cost-to-complete analysis
• Job cost accounting across labor, materials and subcontractor costs, working with project managers on budget vs. actuals
• Construction billing: AIA and progress billing, schedule of values, change orders and contract billing
• Percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Review of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements, plus cash flow forecasting support for the Controller
• Audit schedules and point of contact for External auditors, plus supervision and development of a Staff Accountant

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5–8+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in construction or general contracting
• Hands-on WIP, job costing, construction billing and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Supervisory experience, including reviewing the work of other accountants
• Construction ERP experience (Foundation, Sage 300/Timberline, Viewpoint or similar).
• Strong GAAP fundamentals and advanced Excel
• Able to work on-site in Leesburg, VA
