We’re currently partnering with a well-established, publicly traded client on a Tax Manager hire. The company is a nationally recognized leader in its industry, and it’s stable and still growing. The tax team is tenured and turnover is low. You would report to the Director of Tax and lead a small team of tax accountants. This is a good fit for a tax professional who wants to own the provision and returns end to end, and who also enjoys developing people and improving processes.

What You’ll Own

• Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of tax accountants, including setting expectations, reviewing their work, and helping each person build on their strengths


• The quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provision, from calculation through review


• Federal and state income tax return calculations, working with outside preparers to file accurate returns on time


• Notices, inquiries, and correspondence from taxing authorities, handled promptly and thoroughly


• The tax relationship with internal and external auditors


• Research and analysis for leadership and outside parties when questions come up


• Owning the tax process itself, including documentation, controls, quality, and ongoing improvements

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s in Taxation is a bonus


• CPA


• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or both


• Strong technical depth across federal, state, and local income tax


• Background in manufacturing, retail, insurance, or mortgage is a plus


• Strong Excel skills and an organized, analytical approach to complex work


• Confidence and initiative, and the people skills to lead a team and communicate clearly with leadership and auditors
