The Felician Sisters of North America is seeking a Director of Nursing, Health & Wellness to lead a compassionate, person-centered model of care within our convent home in Buffalo, NY.
This is not a traditional skilled nursing facility role.
Instead, this is a unique opportunity for a nurse leader who is passionate about home care, hospice, or community-based care and is called to support the whole person-body, mind, and spirit in a mission-driven, faith-based environment.

Position Summary
The Director of Nursing, Health & Wellness provides leadership and oversight for a holistic, person-directed care model that prioritizes dignity, autonomy, and wellbeing.
This role partners with an interdisciplinary team to ensure care practices reflect:

What You'll Do
Lead and guide a person-centered model of care that emphasizes dignity, independence, and meaningful daily life
Coach and support staff in delivering relationship-based care
Partner with Sisters, families, and team members to co-create individualized care approaches
Oversee clinical care practices supporting comfort and quality of life
Ensure documentation supports continuity and understanding of the whole person
Foster a collaborative, respectful team culture
Support staff development and engagement
Execute or manage care staff scheduling
Maintain clinical standards within a home-like environment
Collaborate with leadership and HR
Participate in on-call support as needed
Assist the Administrator with employee relations to include recruitment, orientation, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, terminations, job description updates, training, staff development and enforcement of policies and procedures
Who We're Looking For
We are especially seeking candidates who bring:
Pro ven leadership in home care, hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, or community-based senior care
Commitment to person-centered care models
Comfort in a home-like environment
Experience with aging in place and end-of-life care
A collaborative and empowering leadership styl e
Minimum of (10) years of experience as an active Registered Nurse (RN)
Minimum of (5) years of supervisory experience in person centered healthcare/nursing, etc. (DON, ADON, Nurse Manager, etc.)
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in good standing required in the state of New York.
Comprehensive supervisory experience, including hiring, employee disciplines, performance evaluations, staff scheduling, training, and staff engagement.
Additional education or experience in such areas as rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is a plus
Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and clinical best practices
Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
