Job Summary:
The Component Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the CNC machining, punching, bending and forging of copper components within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient operations, high-quality output, cost control, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The manager leads production teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to meet organizational goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction ManagementOversee daily manufacturing operations for component production across multiple shifts.Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and deadlines.Monitor production performance metrics (efficiency, yield, downtime) and take corrective action as needed.Ensure optimal utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
Quality AssuranceEnsure all components meet quality standards and specifications.Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to resolve defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.Lead root cause analysis for production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Team LeadershipSupervise, coach, and develop manufacturing staff.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Process ImprovementDrive continuous improvement initiatives Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and lower production costs.Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Safety & ComplianceEnsure a safe working environment and compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.Lead safety initiatives and conduct regular audits and training.Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.Support new product introductions (NPI) and process changes.Coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability.
Maintenance & EquipmentOversee equipment performance and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.Support capital equipment planning and upgrades.
QualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing or production environments.3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.Experience in CNC machining preferred
Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management skills.Knowledge of continuous improvement tools.Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working ConditionsPrimarily based on the manufacturing floor.May require extended hours, weekends, or shift support as needed.
