Work EnvironmentThis role is fully remote, allowing you to perform your duties from the comfort and safety of your home. We provide you with the necessary tools and technology to connect with clients, including secure video conferencing applications for virtual counseling sessions. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Remote Hospice Social Worker, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting individualized assessments to understand the unique needs and preferences of hospice patients and their families.
- Utilizing video chat technology to provide ethical and compassionate counseling sessions focused on emotional support and coping strategies.
- Developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans that promote mental well-being and facilitate recovery.
- Regularly assessing the progress of clients, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to enhance effectiveness.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, to create a comprehensive support network for patients.
- Educating clients and their families about available resources, support services, and coping mechanisms to manage grief and loss.
You will work primarily with stable, low-acuity adults who are receiving hospice care, along with their families. Your role will be critical in providing emotional support and facilitating open communication about end-of-life decisions. Empathy and sensitivity to the emotional challenges faced by clients will be essential in your approach.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- A current and unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license is mandatory.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating accountability and professional judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a sympathetic approach in dealing with sensitive and emotionally charged matters.
- Proficiency with computer systems and stable Wi-Fi connectivity to conduct online sessions efficiently.
While not mandatory, preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience in hospice, palliative care, or working with terminally ill patients.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing treatment plans.
- Familiarity with telehealth practices and online counseling methodologies.
The annual salary for this role ranges from USD 90,000 to 104,000, depending on experience and hours worked. In addition to competitive pay, we offer:
